Flooring Calculator is a free tool designed to help flooring contractors and home owners to estimate the cost of a flooring job. It allows you to specify the square foot floor area and enter your own prices for up to four rooms. Also, it includes a waste factor for the material. This is set to a default of .08 (8%) but can be changed. The Material Sq Ft Cost is set to a default of $5.00 per square foot but can be changed. There are some predefined material labor types and prices for hardwood flooring, Luxury Vinyl plank & tile, ceramic tile, and laminate flooring. Based on these settings Flooring Calculator gives you an approximate price of your project including flooring material and labor. The default is set to Wood. The purpose of Flooring Calculator is to serve as an estimation tool only to help you in determining a budget for your project. Keep in mind other materials & labor costs associated with many flooring projects are NOT included. These would be things like moving furniture or appliances, removing old flooring, moldings, possible floor preparation, installation on stairs, etc.
When measuring your room(s) don't forget to add 3" for any doorways. When entering the width and the length of your room(s) use the decimal equivalent of any inches. For example, .05 = 6".
